There is something so glamorous about having your hair styled in classic ways. Here, Hillary Duff gained inspiration from the ever-s0-classic Brigitte Bardot. She decided she was going to glam-up her book signing while in NYC.
“Hilary and I are always drawn to the casual glamour of Brigitte Bardot,” says hairstylist Marcus Francis. Loved how he added a fun twist to this elegantly, mild poof by using a playful leather studded headband.
Here’s how to DIY:
STEP 1. Treat damp hair from middle of strands to ends with Phytovolume Actif Maximizing Volume Spray and work in with hands. Spray at the roots and blow-dry in sections with a vented 1 and 1/4-in. round brush.
STEP 2. Clip up a Mohawk-section of hair at crown. Prep bottom portion of remaining hair with L’Oréal Elnett StrongHold Hairspray and wrap around a 1″-in. curling iron from roots to ends, away from face. Mist curls with Phytovolume Actif Maximizing Volume Spray, and brush with a paddle bristle brush for large waves. Add softness with Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk Aerosol Spray.
STEP 3. Unclip top section of hair and gently tease in 1/2-in. sections from the front hairline to the back of crown. Smooth out with paddle brush, leaving the height and messy texture intact.
STEP 4. Pull sides back at an angle into a half-up/half-down style, securing with large bobby pins underneath the hair. Top off with a thin headband placed a few inches from front hairline. Seal with a quick spray of L’Oréal Elnett StrongHold Hairspray.
